About Us

Boring Club & Social Enterprise, more commonly branded as Boring Club, is a community driven club with the goal of connecting people together around the community through different types of social activities.

History

Boring Club was founded in 2022 by a group of board games enthusiasts that want to share their large board games collection. After starting their own small Meetup group at a local cafe in Bangkok, the group quickly expanded into a social activities group that includes a variety of activities.

The name of the club originated in China when board game events were held weekly before COVID times and it was originally called ‘Board Game Social Night’.

After arriving in Thailand, one of the founders decided to form The Boring Group because it roughly sounded like “the board game group”, and the uniqueness and simplicity of the name make people remember, wonder and talk about the club. Another concept of the name is that Bangkok has many leisure activities that are related to drinking alcohol, partying, and sitting in the night club with loud music. The Boring Group wants to keep it “boring” and approach “fun” in a different way by connecting people with same interests together within a good environment and focusing on doing interesting activities. We believe this is a better way of building social connection.

Currently, the name of the organization is rebranded as Boring Club. The organization is based in Bangkok, Thailand. It is  currently a private entity.

Future

Boring Club hopes to continue to connect more people with different backgrounds and similar interests together to form a community, or even form their own circle of friends and support groups. It’s truly a great way to make new friends and expand your social life.

In the future, Boring Club hopes to expand internationally into different parts of the world and bring back what mainstream social media has taken away from us, which is in-person face to face interaction among people.

Boring Club also wants to develop into a company that explores other ventures within related industries.
